Edinburgh Drug Consumption Room feasibility study

Funded by City of Edinburgh Council.

Collaboration with Figure 8 Consultancy Services, Glasgow Caledonian University and University of Glasgow.

To provide the City of Edinburgh Council with an independent feasibility study for Drug Consumption Rooms (DCR) or similar harm reduction innovations in the city. The study will consist of:

A review of global models for DCR service delivery and evidence of outcomes

A data-driven assessment of needs in Edinburgh, with a geographical consideration of small-area hotspots and existing service provision

Consultation with local decision-makers, service providers and potential clients on feasibility, acceptability and other practical considerations

Provision of an interim and final report to City of Edinburgh Council and Edinburgh Alcohol and Drug Partnership with recommendations
