Abstract
First paragraph: The handling of fish both in and out of their natural environment almost always creates great difficulties. Their characteristic struggling during captures and handling usually has strong effects on both physiology and behaviour, and consequently it is often necessary to immobilise fish before attempting to perform even the most simple task.
