Abstract
First paragraph: Descriptions of attacks by eagles on forest monkeys are scarce in the literature, although recent publications have begun to remedy this, both in Africa and in South America. The crowned hawk eagle Stephanoaetus coronatus is an important predator on African monkeys. This paper describes 4 incidents involving eagles and monkeys, one of which was a successful attack, at a site in Central Zaire.
