Abstract
Pride Month presents a unique opportunity for dementia care professionals to reflect on the experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals living with dementia and their carers within care settings. Despite progress in LGBTQ+ rights, this community still faces unique challenges, which are often exacerbated by the complexities of dementia. This article explores the struggles LGBTQ+ individuals with dementia and their carers encounter, while also offering best practice tips to create inclusive and affirming environments in dementia care settings during Pride Month and beyond.
