Abstract
A study on the culture of competitive video gaming, which seeks to explore consumers' perceptions of good conduct or ‘e-sportsmanship’ in professional esports competitions. Links are drawn between such perceptions and the culture of the gaming community, which is commonly considered as non-inclusive and hostile. The study will involve semi-structured interviews with consumers of Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) games and events, and will employ Consumer Culture Theory.
