Abstract
This series editors' preface introduces a powerful monograph by Maria Hook on the choice of law contract which advocates a party autonomy based theory for determining the applicable law in a range of areas (eg contract, tort, divorce, maintenance, matrimonial property and succession). It advocates the acceptance of party autonomy being accompanied by modal choice of law rules to regulate it.
