About me

I am a lecturer in Translation and Interpreting Studies, combining expertise in professional practice, teaching, and research. As a Chinese-English interpreter and translator, I work across legal, business, and conference settings. I am a registrant of the National Register of Public Service Interpreters (NRPSI), a member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI), and a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL).

Professional Practice:

• Legal interpreting: Crown, Magistrates and Family Courts, Home Office, Police

• Conference interpreting: pharmaceutical sector, international business forums

• Business and commercial interpreting: international trade, luxury goods sector

• Active contributor to professional standards and governance in public service interpreting

Research

My CHASE/AHRC-funded doctoral research employs transformative mixed methods to investigate interpreting provision in UK maternity settings, particularly focusing on Video-Mediated Interpreting (VMI). This research bridges crucial gaps between healthcare delivery, language access, and technological innovation.
