About me

Josephine Munch Rasmussen is Head of Research at Arkivet Peace and Human Rights Center in Norway. Josephine works transdisciplinary and has vast experience in research communication in public and educational contexts. She has a background in cultural heritage research, legal studies, and history, and holds a PhD in archaeology from the University of Oslo. From 2022 to 2025 she was a Senior Researcher at the Norwegian institute for Cultural Heritage Research NIKU. From 2023 to 2025 she led the European research project DECOPE in cooperation with researchers and heritage professionals in Spain, Norway, Scotland and Ukraine. The project investigated local and international responses, mobilisation and care for cultural heritage in the wake of Russia’s full scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

Josephine is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Stirling Centre for Environment, Heritage and Policy
