Abstract
An anlysis of the plot against Robert I, discovered in 1320, and hitherto dismissed as a scheme led by a desparate minority: this paper argues that the plot ran over a longer period of time than previsously recognised and involved potentially many more Scots - it was in fact a Balliol plot to dethrone Bruce.
