Abstract
First paragraph: This research aimed to contribute to understandings of the meaning of quality of life for frail older people, from the perspectives of these people themselves. We explored ways in which frail residents in care homes may enjoy good quality of life and maintain a positive sense of self in spite of society’s negative attitudes to frailty and later life. We defined frail older people as those with severe physical and/or mental conditions or disabilities.
