Abstract
This chapter examines the debate on the use of digital technologies with young children through a survey of 346 3- and 4-year-olds' experiences with digital technologies, both in their homes and in pre-school settings. The chapter describes how children engage with digital technologies at home regardless of socio-economic circumstances. The authors discuss the role of the pre-school in enabling children to build on learning at home.
