First paragraph: Gyrodactylus salaris (Gs) is a freshwater external ecto-parasite that infects Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) and a number of other salmonid species. The aims of the study reported here were to estimate the economic consequences of the introduction of Gs into Scotland, and to identify the costs of prevention, eradication and containment
