Abstract
First paragraph: This short report features a synthesis of the findings from recent systematic reviews of the evidence base, as well as findings from peer reviewed published studies conducted since the publication of the Anderson and Baumberg review (2006). This more recent evidence is drawn from evaluated alcohol education intervention activities in schools relevant to the EU 27 member states published subsequent to the Anderson and Baumberg review (2006). The report builds upon the summary and conclusions of Anderson and Baumberg's (2006) review of English language peer reviewed literature on the effectiveness of school-based programmes in effecting alcohol-related behaviour change and other related pre-determinants (such as knowledge, attitudes, awareness). This evidence base update is drawn from peer reviewed published papers, commissioned reports and systematic reviews published since 2005 to date.
