Abstract
This case outlines the start-up, rapid growth, and near collapse of a computer services company. The case raises the issue of management competence based on entrepreneurial type, team skills and management structure. The particular issue of the need for good management information when managing rapid growth in a small company from start-up, and in the face of a major change of strategy, is directly referred to. The implications of effective start-up, growth and change of strategic direction on management and financial control systems are all at the centre of the case.
