Abstract
The article provides an intepretation of Butler's idea in Fifteen Sermons that we are adapted to virtue. Emphasis is placed on Butler's conception of the harmony between the moral and natural order and on the theological framework that makes sense of this. Consideration is given to whether an evolutionary framework could achieve the same end.
