Abstract
First paragraph: The expression ‘Babylonian mode of thought’ has been used in economics – and particularly in connection with Post Keynesian economics – in an attempt to identify a way of approaching economic analysis which is quite different from the mainstream. We start by tracing the use made of the term, and then discuss in more detail its meaning and significance.
