Abstract
Gardner’s provocative paper gives new poignancy to the long-lasting question, whether psychology could ever become a single and coherent science. He asks, is it not likely that some subfields of scientific psychology will be devored by the newly emerging scientific enterprises such as cognitive science and cognitive neuroscience? Will psychology become even more compartmentalized? Should it look for some other allies within academic subjects?
