Abstract
This article explores the nature of provision of HE within the FE context and discusses the prevalent cultures of delivery. Attention is drawn to the skills and pedagogic methods prevalent within FE that could offer significant be nefits to the delivery of advanced level apprenticeships and applied vocationally based high er education. Discussion turns to the re- contextualisation of the HE provision in FE and the possible economic and social benefits of widening access to skills focussed higher level tra ining courses.
