Abstract
This is a report providing recommendations following Scotland’s second National Dementia Strategy 2013–16, which identified 17 commitments underpinned by a human rights approach. The strategy highlighted five particular population groups with characteristics protected by the Equality Act 2010, where challenges might arise in the context of dementia. These characteristics are: age; race and ethnicity; learning disabilities; lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT); and disability – sensory impairment.
