Abstract
This book chapter derives from work carried out at Stirling Management School for the European Commission FP7 research project IRISS (Incereasing Resilience in Surveillance Societies, 2012-2015). The edited book collection represents the first edition in the series: Routledge Studies in Surveillance,and has been published through CRISP: Centre for Research into Information, Surveillance and Privacy, Stirling Management School (a collaborative initiative between the universities of Edinburgh, St Andrews and Stirling).
