Abstract
First paragraph: Use of systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT), which includes chemotherapy, biological, hormone and antibiotic agents, is increasing globally. Its role in killing, disrupting and altering DNA pathways and signalling to arrest the proliferation of cancer cells is key to its success, as evidenced by the increasing number of people with cancer who are living well and longer following their use. Unfortunately, these agents, which are extremely toxic, are classified as hazardous and are considered carcinogenic to humans, even before use (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), 2015).
