Abstract
This chapter includes a self-reflexive analysis of leaving the field. The focus is one year of ethnographic fieldwork on violence against women in Bolivia. The chapter describes the anxiety related to the responsibility of writing and representation and the particularities of these challenges within (post) colonial contexts. Insights are offered into how to deal with some of these challenges.
