Abstract
International business is conducted in multilingual environments, necessitating a variety of translating and interpreting (T&I) activities. It is crucial that companies planning to successfully expand into a different linguistic community consider the relationship between language and culture because the costs of making mistakes can be high. We have all heard anecdotes about how poorly translated brand names or company slogans have caused unintended offence or hilarity in the target market. In this chapter, we are going to learn about what T&I is, different types of T&I activities, and how they play a significant role in the business context.
