Abstract
First paragraph: With an undeniable decrease in public support for hosting and organizing of mega-sport events such as the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and the further economic and social pressures due to the unexpected and devastating Covid-19 pandemic, the value of Public Relations as a tool for organizers during the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games cannot be understated. We argue that the current circumstances and the pressures experienced during the digital era call for a more sophisticated PR policies that appear to be better suited, if not required, throughout and beyond Olympic and Paralympic Games.
