Abstract
A distinctive element of all projects in the Social Behavioural and Design Research programme under the Healthy Ageing Challenge is their constructive engagement with business and social enterprise. Working with business is increasingly seen as vital if we are to provide an evidence base for initiatives to support healthy ageing. We will provide an overview of the types of business engagement across the SBDRP. One of the project teams (working with nature based outdoor enterprises) will share their experiences of how they co-designed and initiated their research with various business partners and how they plan to work with them through the three years of funding. The paper will also highlight various ESRC initiatives to stimulate academic – business relationship building.
