Abstract
First paragraph: ‘Stay at home’ was the often repeated advice given to populations as the Covid-19 pandemic unfolded in 2020. However, from the onset of the pandemic it was clear that many workers could not move to home working in order to minimise risks associated with the virus. Research conducted by researchers involved in the DIAMOND project gained insight into the work related challenges faced by transport workers in Poland, Spain, the UK and Ireland and the support they received from their employers and colleagues at this unusual time. The employment impacts of Covid-19 were particularly felt by women but also by young people and other groups (fairness for women in transport is the focus of the DIAMOND project).
