The information provided in this section is largely drawn from Emery Thompson and Wrangham (2013), Mittermeier, Rylands and Wilson (2013), Reinartz, Ingmanson and Vervaecke (2013), Robbins (2011), Robbins and Robbins (2018), Wich et al. (2009), Williamson and Butynski (2013a, 2013b), and Williamson, Maisels and Groves (2013).
