About me

Dr Gemma Mitchell is a Hastings Research Fellow at the University of Stirling, with a background in sociology and social work. She is a qualitative researcher with expertise in alcohol industry involvement in science and policy and conflicts of interest. In her current role, she leads studies looking at alcohol industry corporate political activity, including in relation to alcohol and pregnancy, and works with public health organisations to develop strategic responses to the commercial determinants of health. Gemma also co-leads the UK Prevention Research Network ‘Management of Commercial Interactions in Research’ Interest Group.
