About me

I am a Lecturer in Health Psychology and HCPC registered Health Psychologist who joined the Division of Psychology in November 2019. Before this I was a Research Associate at the University of Manchester. During my time there I secured funding from the Multiple Sclerosis Society to carry out a mixed methods study of prescribing of disease-modifying drugs for people with MS and worked on a multi-million pound NIHR-funded programme grant to evaluate NHS England's type 2 diabetes prevention programme.

I completed my PhD in Health Psychology at Aston University in Birmingham, with supervision from Prof. Helen Pattison and Dr Carole Cummins. The PhD was hosted by Birmingham Children's Hospital and focused on investigating psycho-social factors influencing non-attendance at children's hospital appointments.

I am also a volunteer for The Change Exchange, an organisation pairing health psychology practitioners with partners in low and middle income countries to integrate behavioural science into health professional training and practice in order to tackle global health concerns.
