Developing strategies for enhancing international sport competence for the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee (KSOC)

Collaboration with University of Lausanne.

Objectives:

  1. Establishment of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee (KSOC) Lausanne Office in Switzerland, Lausanne, for comprehensive sport diplomacy activities such as understanding changing international sport trends and expanding networks.

  2. The Lausanne Office will serve as a platform for building networks and strengthening international capabilities by supporting the advancement and activities of domestic sport personnel in international organisations through connections and collaborations with international organisations.

  3. The establishment of the Lausanne Office will provide an opportunity to formulate strategic measures for strengthening international sport capabilities, including the advancement of Koreans into executive positions in international sport organisations.

  4. Based on the international network established around the Lausanne Office, it is necessary to present mid- to long-term performance goals, vision, and a phased execution roadmap that can enhance the international capabilities of domestic sport organisations and sport personnel.

Detailed Task Content:

1.Current Status Analysis

  • Organisation charts and key executive compositions of major international sport organisations
  • Current status of Korean executives in major international sport organisations
  • Current status of domestic programmes and projects supporting the enhancement of international capabilities
  • Strategies and programmes for enhancing international capabilities of other countries' NOCs and IFs

2.Support for Advancement into International Sport Organisations and Activation of International Networks

  • Plans for promoting international exchange and activating international networks
  • Research on programmes that can be connected and collaborated with international organisations
  • Strategies to support the advancement of Koreans into executive positions in international organisations

3.Presentation of Strategies for Strengthening International Capabilities

  • Formulation of plans and strategies to enhance the international capabilities of domestic sport personnel and sport organisations
  • Presentation of macro mid- to long-term performance goals, vision, and phased execution roadmap based on the establishment of international networks
