Project

Developing a skill-based pedagogical framework for sustainability

Funded by The British Ecological Society.

This project aims to create and validate a skills-based pedagogical framework for sustainability, to develop environmentally committed students and alleviate climate anxiety (CA). The development of the framework will involve four stages:

Stage 1: ‘Practitioners’ Workshops’ will be coordinated to identify key skills surrounding sustainability .

(Stage 2: Online surveys will be disseminated to decipher students’ degrees of climate anxiety, fear and actions.

Stage 3: The blended framework will combine an online digital environment and Participant Workshops, where students complete tasks focusing on scenarios relating to different sustainability issues to acquire the above-mentioned skills .

Stage 4: The framework will then be tested by comparing student perceptions and behaviours pre- and post-engagement with the framework.
