About me

Angus Watson is a Consultant General and Colorectal surgeon and is Director of Rsearch and Development at NHS Highland. He has a research team of 8 staff. The teams activities include

  1. Randomised Clinical Trials. 2. Biomarker discovery using high throughput technologies icluding microbiomics and metabolomics. 3. Digital media and healthcare. 4. Cognitive behavioural therapies and chronic ill health. 5. Healthcare delivery in rural areas. 6. Systematic reviews. My clinical expertise is in looking after patients with colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. I am deputy chair of the NIHR IBD research group and I am a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
