About me

Dr Linda Mensah joined the University of Stirling in 2023 as a Lecturer in Law. Prior to that, Linda taught Environmental Law at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, where she also completed her PhD under the Strathclyde Excellence Awards.

Linda obtained her LLM (with Distinction) in International Law and Sustainable Development from the University of Strathclyde as a Chevening Scholar. She is a qualified barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana and was the recipient of the John Mensah Sarbah Memorial Award for Best Graduating Law Student from the Ghana School of Law in 2011. Linda has years of experience in corporate litigation, working as in-house counsel in higher education and working with Ghana's Legal Aid Scheme in several pro bono cases involving human rights.

Her research interests involve human rights and the environment, climate justice and conservation through critical approaches including law and history, African Indigenous Knowleges, decolonial feminist legal methods, critical legal pluralisms and African feminisms.

Linda is also an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy(AFHEA).
