About me
I currently direct and lecture on the Access to Degree Studies Programme at the University of Stirling. I completed my undergraduate studies in Russia and then moved to Scotland, where I obtained an MRes degree from the University of St Andrews and a doctorate in Psychology from the University of Edinburgh. I have diverse teaching background and taught psychology, sociology and education across FE and HE sectors in Scotland, including Newbattle Abbey College, an adult education college in Edinburgh. In addition to being a Lecturer in Adult Education here at Stirling University, I also work as Sociology Lecturer at Queen Margaret University. My teaching specialisations are pedagogical and sociological theory, class, identity and social movements, with an additional expertise in discursive studies and qualitative research methodologies. Having worked at the intersection of FE and HE sector for years, I am acutely aware of challenges associated with educational transition and issues of social inequality in educational access; those topics form the backbone of my research interests.
