About me

I completed my undergraduate degree in Celtic Studies and History at the University of Glasgow in 2020, and my MA in Irish Studies at Queen's University Belfast in 2021.

I am now undertaking a SGSAH funded collaborative, interdisciplinary PhD project with the History and English departments at the University of Stirling and the Scottish Maritime Museum.

Additionaly I am working with the Scottish Maritime Museum on contextualizing their holdings in relation to project findings and developing public engagement activities with the museum.

Research

My research aims to uncover the writings of shipyard workers in the long nineteenth century, and consider their engagements with literary and associational cultures, and the way in which they represent issues such as professional identity, migration, religion and culture.

I have an interest in the working class experience and a history from below perspective. My research seeks to bring foward working class voices into the historical record, particuarly those of the shipyards, Glasgow's principal trade of the long nineteenth century.
