About me

Laura McCullagh is a lecturer on the Initial Teacher Education (ITE) Programme at the University of Stirling. She is the Module Co-ordinator for Early Years and oversees multiple modules across the programme. In addition, Laura serves as the Director of Placements for ITE, supporting student teachers in their professional practice.

Laura has a strong academic background in education, having completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education and an MSc in Leadership in Education. She is currently undertaking doctoral studies as a Doctor of Education, further deepening her expertise in the field.

With a diverse teaching background, Laura has experience spanning Early to Second Level and Additional Support Needs. Before joining the University of Stirling, she dedicated 12 years to teaching with West Lothian Council, where she developed a deep understanding of inclusive and high-quality education.

Her research interests focus on Early Years Education, exploring best practices in early childhood pedagogy, curriculum development, and the impact of high-quality early learning experiences.
