About me

About me

I became a certified teacher of Languages and Literature in Brazil in 2004 and have since taught and supervised graduate and undergraduate students internationally in subjects such as TEFL/TESOL, Language Education, Sociolinguistics, and Education. I hold an MA in TEFL and another MA in Social Research Methods from the University of Birmingham, UK. My research interests include narratives of experiences and identities. For my PhD, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and conducted at the University of Stirling, I investigated how the social practice of domestic violence is linguistically indexed in women's narratives. Currently, I am collaborating with other researchers to explore the learning of Sacred Languages.
