The University of Stirling has been awarded grants totalling £4350 from the Scottish Government’s Welcoming International Students Fund to host activities celebrating the cultural diversity of the campus.
The funding will help encourage students from different backgrounds to share in cultural experiences during a series of events later this year.
Films and Footwork, a series of performances run in conjunction with the macrobert Arts Centre, will feature a film, music or dance display from a different region of the world, reflecting the international nature of the campus.
The Students’ Union will also run student-led language support sessions where international students will be offered basic support to develop their spoken and written English. The Union will also be staging student-led social integration events.
Holly Cameron, Vice President Education and Engagement, of Stirling’s Students’ Union, said: “We are delighted to be given this funding. These activities will allow for further integration and support within the student community.”
