Michael Sammels

Before joining the Access Course, Michael volunteered with Microsoft and pursued his passion for photography. 

“I decided to join the Access to Degree Course because I had been putting it off for years and I wanted to do a University degree to have a chance to help others as well as myself.

"The course helped me to learn and understand how the University works. It was especially helpful in terms of essays.

“The Access Course showed me that everyone at University cares about your education and wellbeing. As I once said to one my lecturers, while they hold the role of Professor/Doctor, in my view we are equal. We are all academics, colleagues and most importantly friends.

"If you are considering the Access to Degree course - do it! You have everything to gain and nothing to lose. Even if you choose not to proceed into a University degree course after completing it, you still have accomplished and experienced something.”
