Goh's Story

Goh Shu Wen, who graduated with a first-class degree, was attracted to the Sustainable Events Management course because of the wide-range of modules, across a number of specialist areas, it offered. In addition, the opportunity to spend a semester studying at the University’s main campus in Stirling was a big attraction.

“I have long had a great interest in the events industry so it was perfect for me that the University of Stirling offered an honours degree specialising in events, here in Singapore" she said. “The course provided a broad selection of modules, including marketing, communications, project management, and more – meaning that it was a well-rounded learning experience.

“During my time studying, there were many opportunities to get involved in extra-curricular activities. I helped to organise many youth conferences and events which allowed me to put my studies into action.

“A real highlight was the semester I spent in Stirling studying at the University’s beautiful main campus. Experiencing Scottish hospitality and culture was fantastic, and I was also able to participate in a six-week volunteer program in Taiwan during my final year.”

Now planning to take the next steps on her journey of establishing a successful career in the events industry, how would Goh Shu Wen summarise her Stirling experience?

She said: “Challenging, inspiring, and life defining.”
