Douglas's Story
An Inverness local, Douglas was attracted to studying at Stirling because the Inverness campus allowed him to live at home and benefit from undertaking placements in various locations across the Highlands.
He was inspired to study nursing through a long-held passion for caring and a desire to follow the example of his mum who was a staff nurse.
Douglas said: “Throughout my three years studying at Stirling, I found the teaching staff very easy to talk to and very helpful. At times I found the course very challenging, particularly the essay writing, but the staff were always available to provide advice and support.
“If I had to describe my time at Stirling in just three words then those would have to be: challenging, fun, rewarding.”
Douglas has already taken the next steps on his journey, having started a job as a Theatre Nurse at a local hospital.
