Dave's Story

Dave Teoh, who graduated with an upper second-class degree, chose the Retail Marketing course at Stirling because of its teaching reputation and recommendations from former and current students. With strong family ties to the retail and manufacturing sectors, Dave was looking for a course which would equip him to help to run the family businesses.

“I wanted to choose a course and university which would be of relevance to me in my current and future roles within my family’s business. Studying at Stirling has certainly delivered that because the lecturers are very experienced in their field,” he said. “They provided insights I would never have foreseen and were always available to provide valuable feedback and suggestions.

“Retail is a sector where things are constantly evolving and new challenges emerging, and the subjects we studied reflected that. A challenge for me was combining my studies with my commitments to the business but with the support of staff, I successfully managed it.

“Like my friends who recommended Stirling to me, I will have no hesitation in advising others to make the same decision. My time studying there has been fruitful and life-defining.”
