MSc Sport Performance Coaching
Singapore, United Kingdom
I was recommended to study the MSc Sport Performance Coaching at the University of Stirling by a friend who had completed the course.
Studying at the University, I had great support from lecturers and found the easy-to-use library for resources. I really enjoyed the forums and the opportunity to safely share ideas and get expert insight into specific fields of knowledge. I also enjoyed the range of tasks, (not just essays) to help me consolidate the knowledge I was learning. This helped me get a greater understanding of concepts to then apply in my coaching setting.
My advice for prospective students would be to read in advance and be organised as best as you can. The course is very supportive, but I found being on top of the work vital in managing a job and a family. Get to know your lecturers as they have varying strengths which will help in your efforts towards the final thesis.
My MSc has opened new opportunities for me and helped me to branch into other areas outside of swimming. The course has helped me build a philosophy and a way of working that is dynamic and evidence-informed.
