Curling scholarships

Our curling scholarships offer a fantastic package of support including: training, competition and funding support to fit alongside academic studies.

We offer curling scholarships in partnership with British and Scottish Curling to offer athletes a bespoke coaching programme which fits in with the demands of elite sport.

What our curling scholarship offers you

  • Enhanced training opportunities at the National Curling Academy at the Peak, providing dedicated ice all year around
  • High performance coaching services, providing technical and tactical advice
  • Strength and conditioning support
  • Sports medicine, support including physiotherapy
  • Sports psychology support to work on individual and team dynamics
  • Other support services including nutrition and performance analysis
  • Above costs covered, plus ice facility charges for these training and competition costs
    Additional support to selected curlers in the form of academic flexibility and financial subsidies for academic related expenses like accommodation, living grants and tuition fees if applicable.
  • Scholarship subsidies go up to a maximum of £2,000 per annum.

Selection criteria

To be considered for a scholarship, you must:

  1. Athletes apply to Scottish and British Curling to be part of the Performance Foundations or GB Programme.
  2. Players selected onto the aforementioned can then apply also for the Scholarship programme at the University of Stirling.
  3. Athletes selected onto the Scholarship. There would be an annual selection process.
  4. Membership depends on both performance reviews and continued membership of academic institution

Applying for a scholarship

Please complete and return the ISSP application form before 30 June for a September start.

Scholarships are subject to applicants achieving relevant academic entry requirements.
