Walking is a great, social way to increase activity levels and our campus is the ideal setting to do it.

Being physically active is proven to help reduce feelings of depression and boost self-esteem and happiness levels.

And that doesn't mean you have to start playing sport or lifting weights in the gym. We have a host of lower impact, fun activities such as yoga and social table tennis for those seeking something a little less intense.

As well as supporting body confidence, research shows that physical activity can reduce the risk of serious health conditions and increase life expectancy.

However, we know it can be daunting to start exercising, particularly in a gym environment, so we support students of all levels take that first step to making the most of our facilities and services.

When you are physically active, your brain releases endorphins – natural ‘feel good’ chemicals – which can help alleviate stress and improve overall wellbeing.

Group exercise is a brilliant way to elevate those endorphins, through activity in a fun, social setting, and our fitness class timetable offers a range of classes, from strength and cardio to dance and wellbeing.

Move for Your Self

You’re more likely to be regularly active when you find something that works for you. Whether it’s walking with friends, training in the gym or playing sport, enjoy being active in your own way.

Sport is a great way to make friends and enhance your wellbeing. However, we know competition and formal training isn't for everyone, so our Just Play Sport programme is ideal for those who enjoy their sport when it's just for fun!
