Sports halls and squash

Our Sports Halls are ideal for a wide variety of sports, including badminton, table tennis, short tennis and basketball. We also have one squash court available.

The spaces can be booked for events or club bookings and by individuals and members for Pay As You Play bookings.

Winter Sports Pass

Book 5 sports hall or tennis sessions for £40.

Available to members and non-members (account required). All passes will expire on 31 January 2025.

Sports Hall 1

Sports Hall 1 has a resin flooring. The dimensions are 32m x 28m.

Activities available in this space are:

  • Badminton – 8 courts available.
  • Table tennis – 4 tables available.
  • Basketball – can be played across 2 courts (we have 4 hoops) or full hall game.
  • Short tennis – 8 courts available.
  • Volleyball – 1 x net which is played across half of Sports Hall 1.
  • Tournaments – Fencing (Sports Hall 1 only), Volleyball (Sports Hall 1 & 2), Netball (Sports Hall 1 & 2), Futsal (Sports Hall 1 & 2).

Court lines are available for the following sports:

  • Badminton, netball, volleyball, fencing, badminton, short tennis, cricket, basketball and table tennis.

Sports Hall 2

Sports Hall 2 has a wood sprung floor. The dimensions are 27m x 18m.

Activities available in this space are:

  • Volleyball
  • Badminton
  • Netball
  • Basketball
  • Pickleball
  • Futsal (training only – match lines only in Sports Hall 1)

What equipment is provided in the sports halls?

University of Stirling Sport will provide you with nets and stands. You can borrow shuttlecocks, racquets, tennis balls and basketballs from the sports centre reception.

There are music systems installed in Sports Hall 1, Sports Hall 2 and studios which are operated by University of Stirling Sport staff.  You can bring your own speaker if required.

Squash court

We currently have one squash court available for pay and play bookings which can be booked via the app or online booking portal.

Bookings

Bookings can be made on the University of Stirling Sport app or online. Find out more about how to book.

  • Bookings can be made up to 7 days in advance.
  • Bookings are made on the account of one person.
  • Courts are booked by the hour and are available to members and non-members.
  • Non-members must create a pay-as-you-go account through our membership portal before booking.
  • Sessions are non-refundable.

On arrival

  • Any guest, without a valid membership, must report to reception on arrival to be granted access, providing the name of the person who made the booking.
  • If you are using the cafe or another facility before your session, please advise reception to record your attendance.
  • Please enter through the main gates at reception using your student, staff or membership card (new members and casual users will be given a card on their first visit).
