About
Lena is the lead Careers Consultant for the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and is herself an Arts and Humanities graduate, with an MA (Hons) in French and German from the University of Glasgow. Upon graduating Lena worked in sales and finance in a variety of roles for many years before returning to university to become a professionally qualified careers adviser, graduating with a PG Diploma in Career Education and Guidance from Edinburgh Napier University. Since then, she has developed a range of experience across the public, private and third sectors and has spent the past 13 years working in higher education, with caseloads including business and finance, marketing and media, social science and education, accountancy, and law as well as health sciences.
Lena is also the lead Careers Consultant for Health Sciences and Stirling Management School, which aligns well with her interest in keeping fit and healthy: she is a former competitive dancer, qualified teacher, and adjudicator, and enjoys walking, cycling, and going to the gym.
Lena works closely with colleagues within the faculty to support the delivery of careers information, education, advice, and guidance at both undergraduate and post graduate level through a range of bespoke workshops and one-to-one guidance support.
She is a member of AGCAS and a member of the AGCAS Scotland Law Advisers group and the Scottish Universities Nursing and Healthcare Advisers Group (SUNHAG), for which she was the chairperson until recently.
