The purpose of the Sustainable Aquaculture Innovation Centre (SAIC) MSc Scholarship is to financially assist UK and overseas students, providing an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and career within Aquaculture. The award will offer a full fee waiver to a strong candidate who demonstrates their aims and ambitions within the field of Aquaculture, making a case why they want to study at the Institute of Aquaculture at the University of Stirling.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to participate in a short informal interview with the scholarship panel within the faculty, interviews will be conducted between 5 and 6 May 2025.

 

Eligibility and availability

There is no monetary alternative to this award, it will be issued as a tuition fee waiver. No cheque or payment shall be made directly to the student.

In the event of the Scholarship awardee choosing to withdraw from the course, or to defer entry, the panel reserve the right to request the repayment of fees, or to withdraw their offer of support.

The successful scholar will be asked to sign an agreement which will outline the conditions of offer relating to this scholarship.

If the scholar ceases to be a registered student at the University of Stirling or does not fulfil the terms of their signed agreement, the Scholarship would be suspended immediately and they may be required to return any overpayments.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome by 17:00 GMT on 9 May.

Eligibility for UK applicants

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • a minimum of 2.2 honours degree and an offer of a place on MSc Aquatic Pathobiology, MSc Aquatic Veterinary Studies or MSc Sustainable Aquaculture;
  • you must be based on the Stirling campus for the course of study- distance learning is not permitted for this award;
  • this scholarship cannot be combined with any other University of Stirling scholarship or award;
  • be available to start academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September 2025.

Eligibility for overseas applicants

  • a minimum of 2.2 honours degree and an offer of a place on MSc Aquatic Pathobiology, MSc Aquatic Veterinary Studies or MSc Sustainable Aquaculture starting in September 2025;
  • you must be classed as an International student for tuition fee purposes;
  • you must be living outside the UK at the point of application;
  • you must be based on the Stirling campus for the course of study- distance learning study is not permitted for this award;
  • this scholarship cannot be combined with any other Stirling scholarship or award.

 

 

How to apply

The application deadline is 30 April 2025. Following the deadline, shortlisted candidates will participate in a short interview with the scholarship panel. The interview will be scheduled for May 5 to 6.
