University of Stirling ranks highly in survey of international students
Campus environment, sports facilities and social activities among the best in the world

The University of Stirling has ranked highly in a sector-leading survey tracking the international student experience – with its campus environment, sports facilities, social activities, and careers network recognised as being among the best in the world.
The latest International Student Barometer (wave two, 2024) ranks the campus environment first in the UK and top 10 in the world, and our sports facilities first in the UK and second in the world.
Stirling is first in the UK and second in the world for social facilities and activities, and second in the UK and top five in the world for making good career contacts.
The library was also recognised as being top five in the UK and top 20 in the world, while the University’s welcoming and diverse community was celebrated with more than 90 percent of international students reporting that they were happy with life at Stirling, citing a friendly attitude towards international students.
The International Student Barometer – the world’s largest international student experience survey of enrolled students – tracks international student opinion across the entire student journey. It is used by higher education providers, governments, membership bodies and networks around the world as a benchmark for the international student experience.

More than 18,500 students study with the University of Stirling globally, with more than 30% of those being international students. More than 140 nationalities are represented on its 330-acre campus in central Scotland.
