A university with five stars is considered ‘excellent’ in the QS Stars ratings, and is celebrated for its strong international reputation, highly qualified and diverse staff base, and cutting-edge facilities, which support major research projects of national and global importance. Furthermore, students who graduate from five-star institutions are typically highly sought after by employers.
In the latest review period, the University was awarded five stars overall – as well as on an individual basis for its teaching, employability, internationalisation, research, facilities, programme strength and environmental impact.

The QS Stars university rating system is an internationally recognised mark of quality – providing a comprehensive independent framework to rate and compare universities’ performance across a broad spectrum of criteria. The system – which evaluates dozens of indicators across at least seven categories – aims to improve the overall quality of the higher education sector by providing valuable insights across key areas.
